Our Story

Schmidt Auto Care was founded in 2009 by Erich Schmidt, a former Chrysler technician with a dream of redefining car care. Erich’s mission was to create a shop rooted in trust, honesty, and community values.
What started as a small shop in Franklin, Ohio, quickly grew, thanks to the support of loyal customers who recognized Erich’s quality work on their vehicles.
By 2011, the shop relocated to Springboro, expanding into a modern, technology-forward facility. The business continued to grow, and by 2018, Schmidt Auto Care moved into its current facility, where the business plans to stay.
Today, alongside Lauralee Schmidt—our COO—our team continues to serve families, professionals, and local businesses with the same dedication we started with. We remain on the path of giving people a good life and taking good care of cars.

Our Process at Schmidt Auto Care
At Schmidt Auto Care, we’ve designed a streamlined process to ensure a smooth and transparent experience. We operate by scheduled appointments, which can be easily booked via phone or our AutoOps online scheduler.
When you arrive, our service advisor will guide you through the check-in, confirm your communication preference (call or text) preferences, and explain the next steps. We’ll perform a thorough Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI), capturing photos and detailed findings to share with you, then call to review the inspection results, recommend necessary services, and address any concerns.
Approved repairs are completed, with most vehicles ready by the afternoon. Invoices detail all work performed and future recommendations. First-time customers receive a welcome package with a $50 coupon, keychain, and mug, followed by a handwritten thank-you note a week later. At Schmidt Auto Care, we combine expert service with genuine care to build lasting relationships.
